About outer table considerations

The differences between the milling cutter and the milling cutter are quite large, and although both perform the same basic function, the methods of use are quite large.

On the one hand, the milling cutters are made of one high-speed element from the shaft to the milling cutter and are designed to operate at speeds of up to 25,000 rpm. The axes vary in size from ¼ “to ½” in diameter and are attached to the router using a collar. This is just a split round conical ring that is pressed against the drill bit as the collar nut is tightened. Some of these steel blanks also form a cutting tool, while others have the same shaft and cutting head, but with carbide tips added to them.

High speed steel tips are cheaper, but they don’t last as long as carbide tips

They also tend to burn firewood, especially if they have what is called an experimental drill. This is just a piece of steel that protrudes from the bottom of the drill and is designed to be attached to the formed wood. This part is completely useless, since the amount of work needed to eliminate burns is simply not worth it.

A carbide-tipped drill will have a roller bearing at the bottom to follow the edge of the wood being formed. These bearings work smoothly, and until too much lateral pressure is applied to the point of contact with the tree, they will not leave signs of use. If excessive lateral pressure is applied, they will leave a small groove or path where they come in contact with the wood. Good constant light pressure is all that is needed.

Drills without this part or the guide roller should be used with the guide edge mounted on the router, or with a table and next to the router. These bits are available in many sizes and shapes, and will handle most carpentry, especially for domestic carpentry.

Cutters, on the other hand, are generally much larger and are designed to operate at lower speeds. Either 7000 or 10000 rp, this is the norm. The speed is changed by a system of step pulleys, very similar to a drill. The increase in size is partly due to the fact that they do not have an axis. They have holes in the center of different sizes that slide along the shaft of the machine of the appropriate size. When buying cutters, it is important to consider the diameter, otherwise you may end up with a cutter that is not compatible with your spindles.

This spindle is removable and most molders are equipped with at least one pair of spindles of different diameters. They can also be ordered separately. Many molders come with a shoulder in ¼ “and ½” configurations, which also allows the use of cutters.
